Business in the production of arbolite blocks: Technical indicators

Fale connosco

The search for alternative building materials never stops and every year this market is replenished with new types of basic materials for the construction of walls and their processing. Among the most popular recent innovations are arbolite blocks, which are lightweight, practical and very convenient material for the construction of single–storey buildings and other small buildings. Arbolite blocks not only have a number of advantages, but also, most importantly, demonstrate a very affordable price. At the same time, the production of this building material is easy to establish.

Industrial types of arbolite blocks are made in the form of regular parallelepipeds. The production process is the pressing of cement mortar and chips. It is not difficult to set it up, the main thing is to purchase the necessary equipment and adhere to the technological process for the production of wood concrete (the second name of arbolite blocks).

Classification

This type of building materials belongs to the category of the lightest concrete, which is why it finds application for a variety of needs during construction work.

In addition, arbolite blocks are divided into several types depending on the main constituent component. Straw, wood chips, recycled cotton, and so on can act in its role.

Technical indicators

The production of arbolite blocks, if the production is not established for personal purposes, must occur in accordance with GOST, which defines the following material data.

1. The thermal conductivity is at the level of 0.07 – 0.17 W/(m•K) and depends on the level of dry materials used. Their increase contributes to an increase in thermal conductivity and vice versa.

2. The density should be at the level of 400 – 850 kg per meter. This parameter depends on how the ratio between organic filler and cement is set.

3. The hardness of arbolite blocks should be 0.35 – 3.5 MPa at the output of production, and this parameter depends on the brand of applicable cement and the total set of components.

4. Frost resistance is determined at the level of 30-50 years. However, additional treatment of the walls and covering them with decorative materials significantly increases this parameter, allowing houses made of arbolite to stand for over 100 years.

5. The permissible shrinkage should not exceed 5 mm, and its calculation is based on the specified density. An inversely proportional relationship is established between them – shrinkage increases as the density decreases.

6. The construction of walls made of arbolite does not require additional sound insulation, since the material has a sufficiently high level of sound insulation (150 – 2000 Hz).

7. According to the level of vapor permeability, arbolite blocks can be compared with ordinary wood.

8. Water absorption is quite high – at the level of 50-80%. Therefore, it is necessary to additionally process this building material with moisture-protecting substances. MILFS, Matures, Teens.
